Highlights: Umfrage bei den Unternehmen in Muttenz
As part of the initialisation of the Muttenz Economic Development Agency, an online survey was conducted among local companies from 01.06.2023 to 30.06.2023.
The objectives were: To analyse the current situation, clarify the demand for a local support structure and identify the needs of local companies.
744 companies were invited to take part and 77 completed surveys were recorded, which corresponds to a response rate of over 12%. The survey was completed by companies from a wide range of sectors and of all sizes, as shown in charts 1 and 2.
Findings
- There is a high demand for active economic development.
- A majority of the companies surveyed would like to grow at the Muttenz site [Chart 5]
- Whether growth is possible and will be realised depends on various factors, which vary in Muttenz, such as public and private transport connections, availability and price level of space, site development, etc.
- An increasing shortage of skilled labour and skilled workers is recognised as a problem, and partial solutions are hoped for from local business development.
- Central to WiFöM: Networking task, not only between companies, but also with the distinctive education cluster and politics/administration
Results (extracted)
- A representative mix of service providers, trade and industry was achieved
- Accessibility, price level and availability of space and service orientation of the municipality are seen as very relevant location factors
- Around 61% of the companies surveyed would like to grow at the location, of which over 60% have more than 10 employees.
- The majority of respondents hope to actively promote projects from and with the local economy, and specific concerns and initial project ideas were collected.
