Dear members of the WiFöM network
The association successfully completed its second financial year. In December 2025, the municipal commission approved a budget exceeding the originally planned amount – a clear sign of trust in the work of Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz. The audit, completed in January, was also conducted without any issues.
New Year’s Reception at Vitra
On Thursday, 15 January 2026, we held our third New Year’s reception at the premises of Vitra International AG in Muttenz. The event featured a varied programme: following the review and outlook presented by the presidency of Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz, Dr. Felix Hanisch and Tamara Hersperger, a presentation was given by Heiko Stahl, Senior Vice President International Markets at Vitra. The subsequent company tour was particularly impressive, offering insights into Vitra’s working concepts as well as interesting anecdotes from the company’s history. The evening concluded with an apéro sponsored by the host, offering guests ample opportunity for networking.

We would like to sincerely thank Vitra for their hospitality and sponsorship, as well as all guests and participants for their engagement. It was fascinating to get an inside look at this long-established Muttenz-based company.
Strategic Decisions in February
At the beginning of February, two important meetings are scheduled: the general assembly including the board meeting, as well as a strategy workshop with the municipality. In this workshop, the next steps for the Bizenen site will be defined in more detail. This marks an important intermediate step between the analysis completed in autumn and the upcoming projects in the area.
