Dear members of the WiFöM network

With the previous business year successfully concluded, we are now turning our attention to the year ahead and a range of new projects. The first opportunity to connect and strengthen our network came right at the beginning of the year.

2025 New Year’s Reception at GETEC Park

For the second consecutive year, a successful New Year’s Reception was held. At GETEC Park, Dr Urs Zimmerli, CEO of the host venue, and Dr Felix Hanisch, President of Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz (WiFöM) and Site Director at Bayer, provided fascinating insights into the Schweizerhalle production site and its collaboration with local businesses. The programme was complemented by Vice President Tamara Hersperger, who reflected on the first year of Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz, and by Franziska Stadelmann, Mayor of Muttenz and member of the Executive Board, who shared the municipality’s perspective on Muttenz as a business location. During the networking aperitif that followed, participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen existing connections. Our sincere thanks go to GETEC for generously hosting the event and ensuring its smooth organisation.

Projects 2025

The project planning phase is currently underway. At the end of March, the Executive Board met together with the Advisory Board to combine expertise and provide strategic input for the selected projects, enabling implementation to begin in the coming weeks.

Project: Mini Careers Fair

We are already pleased to share a preview of one such project: the Mini Careers Fair, which will take place on 24 June 2025 for students of Muttenz Secondary School, teachers and parents. Organised in collaboration with Muttenz Secondary School, the SME Association Muttenz, the Basel-Landschaft Chamber of Commerce and Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz (WiFöM), the event aims to introduce young people to the wide range of career opportunities available in Muttenz.

Business Enquiries

We continue to receive enquiries from businesses, most of them relating to business location matters and expansion or relocation within Muttenz. If your business has a question or concern, we encourage you to get in touch with us – we are here to help.

You will always be informed about new projects via LinkedIn and our website wifoem.ch – or at the latest in the next newsletter.
