Dear members of the WiFöM network
It is now November, and much has been achieved during the first operational year of Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz (WiFöM). We are pleased to share some of the highlights and key developments from the past few months.
Save the Date
First of all, we would like to invite you to save the date: our New Year’s Reception will take place on Thursday, 16 January 2025. You are warmly invited to register for the event here.
General Information
Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz (WiFöM) is now fully established, with Dr Felix Hanisch serving as President and Tamara Hersperger as Vice President. They are supported by four additional members of the Executive Board and a six-member Advisory Board representing business, politics and education. The day-to-day operations of the office are managed by N.E.T. GmbH. As part of this development, our website has also been given a fresh new look: wifoem.ch
Mission
During a workshop in June, the Executive Board and Advisory Board made several important decisions that will shape the future of Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz (WiFöM), including the adoption of our mission, which will guide our work in the years ahead.
Objectives
Our main objectives can be grouped into the following areas:
- 1proactive support for existing businesses;
- 2promoting the innovative capacity of the business location,
- 3connecting key stakeholders,
- 4supporting business relocations and new business settlements,
- 5and maintaining external business relations.
Business Relocations to and from Muttenz

Reporting Period: 1 January 2024 to 1 October 2024
In September, we sent welcome letters to newly established businesses and farewell letters to companies that had relocated away from Muttenz. In these letters, we introduced Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz (WiFöM) and invited the companies to share the reasons for their relocation with us. We hope that their feedback will provide valuable insights to support our future activities. An overview of further analyses is available on our website.
Connecting Stakeholders
We have also launched an initiative to support our objective of connecting key stakeholders. At the beginning of November, the Education Cluster Round Table brought together representatives from education and business, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas, build new relationships and strengthen existing ones. The event marked the starting point for future collaborative projects between the education and business clusters in Muttenz.
Stay up to date with our latest projects by following us on LinkedIn and visiting our website, wifoem.ch, or, at the latest, through our next newsletter.
We wish you a successful and enjoyable final stretch of 2024.
Yours sincerely,
On behalf of Wirtschaftsförderung Muttenz (WiFöM)
Dr Felix Hanisch, President, Tamara Hersperger, Vice President
